Fall Walleye Classic Weigh-ins to be held at Torgy's

The daily weigh-ins for this year's Fall Walleye Classic will be held at Torgy's on the lake, which is located about 400 yards directly across the bay from the official launch site. As you unload your boat at the DNR Hatchery launch site, look straight across the bay and you'll see a big white stucco building with a green roof. That is Torgy's.

As you are in town pre-fishing, be sure to familiarize yourself with the official launch site at the DNR Hatchery access in Glenwood, and the official weigh-in site. We will use the docks at Torgy's that are set up in a slip-like system, and will be able to dock between 6-8 boats at a time for the weigh-ins with two boats parked in between each dock. As one boat pulls out, the next boat should pull into to fill that space. We will have a bump tank with water centrally located on the dock so the next 2 teams can stage to be weighed. As one team leaves the bump station to weigh, the next teams waiting on the water should fill that void and so forth.

Teams waiting at the docks must keep fish in their livewells until you are the next team to go to the bump tank, and then proceed in order to the weigh table. We do not want fish out of water any longer than necessary, so do not remove fish from your livewell until it is your turn. As you pull up to the docks note your order and proceed accordingly. *The long dock located next to the slip docks is off limits. We will only use the docks that are set in slip formation for the weigh-ins.

As with all past Walleye Classics, we will weigh the teams one at a time. With a half hour between each flight, we should be done weighing or very close to done with the previous flight when the next flight arrives. If you do not have fish to weigh, you must check in with the official tournament boat on the water located out in front of the weigh-in site. Tell them you have a zero and then go load your boat.

So that we do not fill the parking lot at Torgy's with trucks and boat trailers, and to allow normal restaurant and bar patrons parking during the weigh-ins during normal business hours, all teams will be shuttled from the DNR site where you park your trucks and trailers in the morning, back to the weigh-ins. We will have a free bus running continuously from the weigh-in site to the truck / trailer parking site that is capable of carrying 52 passengers at a time. The bus will run from 3:30 to 7 p.m. on Day 1 and from 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Day 2.

Once teams have weighed their fish and loaded their boat, we ask that you return to the parking spot you had your empty trailer parked ,and ride the bus to Torgy's to watch the weigh-ins and to gather each days printable results. Torgy's will have cold beverages and food specials each day.

All teams are expected to use the shuttle service as there is not enough parking at Torgy's to accommodate all the teams and regular Torgy' patrons, so we will shuttle all the teams. We will have security on the site where trucks and boats are parked, and the sheriff's department will frequent the site with a patrol car.

The bus will be running back and forth continuously both days so you should be able to catch a ride every 5-10 minutes, as the distance between the two sites is half a mile.
