Alexandria Chain produces impressive weights despite major cold front conditions

Alexandria, MN---The first annual Warrior Boats Alexandria Chain of Lakes Spring Walleye Classic turned out to be a virtual slug-fest for some of the 43 teams competing, and despite a major cold-front that saw temperatures drop some 25 degrees, Alexandria's Chain of Lakes produced some eye-popping weights and impressive walleyes both days (June 5-6, 2009).

Bryan Winterfeldt, Dassel, MN, and Darrin Herd, Hutchinson, MN, put up a whopping 20.20-lb. six walleye limit on Day 1 to enter Day 2 in second place, and withstood a Day 2 run by several teams to capture the 2009 Warrior Boats - Alexandria Chain of Lakes Spring Walleye Classic title, with a two-day, 12-walleye total of 34.70 lbs.

any of the accesses, teams are assigned a specific access for the tournament. We will be using the Lake Geneva access, Krueger's Creek access on Le Homme Dieu, and the access on Lake Carlos on the northwest side of the lake (Cty. Rd. 11). Check the Boat Launch Assignments article to see which access your team is to use for the tournament.

Teams fishing the Spring Walleye Classic are assigned specific accesses for the tournament. We are assigning accesses so that we can keep parking available at each site during the tournament for public fishing purposes. Each team is expected to adhere to their assigned access / boat launch sites. If you are staying at a cabin or resort and have the boat on a lift, you are good to go and do not have to launch from a specific site.
